What we process and why.
- Account: your email address and a hashed password (never the password itself), to give you an account. Legal basis: the contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Your files: the audio and video you upload and the results (text, subtitles, converted files), only to do the job you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The upload is deleted as soon as the job is done; results are deleted automatically after 24 hours. We do not listen to, read or use your files for anything else, and we do not train any model with them.
- Job history: file name, length, status and time of each job, for your list and to apply the daily limits; kept while your account exists.
- Membership: your plan, subscription status and renewal date, received from Dodo Payments (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Server logs: IP address and request details for security and abuse prevention, kept for a short time (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a secure service).
Where it is processed. On our own server rented from IONOS SE (Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany) in a data centre in the United States. The speech model (Whisper) runs on that server; your files are not sent to any other AI service. The transfer to the US is covered by a data processing agreement with IONOS including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).
Who else receives data. IONOS (hosting, as our processor) and Dodo Payments (payments, as merchant of record - they process your payment details under their own privacy policy; we never see your card). No advertising networks, no analytics, no data sales.
Cookies. One technically necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. No tracking cookies, so no cookie banner is needed.
How long we keep data. Files: deleted after the job (uploads) or after 24 hours (results). Account and job history: until you delete your account. Invoices and payment records: kept by Dodo Payments as required by tax law.
Your rights. You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, and object to processing (Art. 15-21 GDPR). You can delete your account yourself under Account at any time. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
